Our mission is to help others find full in Christ, community, and mission. This means we want to see others grow in their faith, and spiritual growth happens slowly over time, not all at once. So we think it's helpful to consider growth as one intentional step at a time. In fact, the Apostle Peter puts it this way:
His divine power has granted to us all things that pertain to life and godliness... For this very reason, make every effort to supplement your faith with virtue, and virtue with knowledge, and knowledge with self-control, and self-control with steadfastness, and steadfastness with godliness, and godliness with brotherly affection, and brotherly affection with love. For if these qualities are yours and are increasing, they keep you from being ineffective or unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.
2 PETER 1:3-8
Some Bible versions translate this as "add to your faith virtue (or goodness), and to virtue knowledge..." In other words, keep adding to your faith. Keep taking steps in your spiritual growth; don't stay where you are!
For this reason, we believe it's helpful to present a series of possible next steps for people to take in their relationship with Christ. Be honest about your current starting point, then determine your next best step to move forward.
With this in mind, we've tried to make it simple by making our Mission Statement serve as our primary series of next steps. This means there are next steps for becoming rooted in Christ, community, and mission. There are a couple other basic but important options we've added to help you in your journey, like our weekly worship gathering and our New to Friendship lunch.
